• Earthdog Activities

As of September 1, 2006, AKC FSS Rat Terriers are now allowed to enter AKC tests for Earth dog titles. Jo Draper's, "Louie" earned a JE in 2006, and we hope more Ratties come out to try the fun in the future. If you can't find an AKC earth dog event, or you do not have an AKC ILP or FSS number for your dog, try "The American Working Terrier Assoc.", which is for all terrier breeds. Rat Terriers have been an eligible breed for a long time, and your Rat can earn AWTA titles. Although The AWTA is not associated with the AKC, both The AKC and the AWTA use the same earth dog title rules for the IQ and JE classes.
